In 2001, CEO James Larsen founded IWICS, Inc. to realize his vision of deploying patented Opportunity Driven Multiple Access™ (ODMA™) technology on a global scale. The ongoing corporate mission is to manage and expand ODMA patents, and develop commercial ODMA wireless services. Through partnerships with various wireless equipment manufacturers, ODMA is ready for worldwide deployment providing true Beyond 3G™ coverage.
IWICS' ODMA patent portfolio presently includes 15 patent families that are registered or pending registration in over 70 countries. The key ODMA concepts have been granted in most major industrial jurisdictions around the world, with registered patent protection presently extending to 56 countries.
IWICS maintains its corporate headquarters in Bothell, just north of Seattle in Washington State. The US office is responsible for corporate management and administration, finance and accounting, contract management, intellectual property/patent development and management, sales and marketing, service provider management and smart card management (including ODMA authentication software/infrastructure and inventory management).
